In January 2002 a 52-pound, 4-month-old pathetic creature named Neo arrived at our doorstep.
Little did we know how much our lives would change. Within an hour, we were madly in love with each other.
Over the next year he grew into a 160-pound bundle of amazing joy.
Neo really didn’t care for the wet and cold Pacific Northwest falls, winters and springs. We searched high and low to find a warm coat that would fit across our boy’s massive chest.
The largest coat we could find was in Canada, but when it arrived it was still too small. In our search, we found that although there are a wide variety of products for small dogs, very few options are available for dogs over 70 pounds.
Alas, an idea was born. After many prototypes, we finally settled on a design that not only covers a dog’s entire torso but it’s longer on the sides to help warm arthritic hips.
The coats are easy to put on and take off, and are machine washable.
Neo is a Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff). He was born in September 2001. His favorite things include wrestling, eating breakfast, lounging, howling and belly rubs. Aside from his humans, his “pack” includes his sister Iris (a pitbull mix), brother Speedy (mystery breed) and 10 rescued cats.
